Casalbordino is a town in southern Abruzzo with a truly ancient history, so much so that traces of settlements dating back to the 11th century BC, when this area was inhabited by the Frentani, have been found. The town has always held a strategic position for transhumant shepherds and neighboring villages. Like many other towns on the Adriatic coast, Casalbordino has a historic centre perched on a hill about 6 km from the coast, while the more modern part of the town developed along the coast, where a large, well-equipped beach is now located.
